Kallie did it. Without permission from her mother, she went and got another year older. Why? Why must these little ones grow up too fast? Can we please just freeze this moment in time forever? I probably won't say that when they're teenagers...but for now I wish time could just stand still.
So the festivities went as follows (in chronological order):
So the festivities went as follows (in chronological order):
Friday (May 1st) we skipped out of work a little early (after a major chemical spill at the office courtesy of Syndey- but that is a WHOLE other story for another day...or not). At Kallie's request we packed up the car and headed for a 1 1/2 day, 1 night mini get-a-way to St. George! I must admit we were all ready for a fun change of scenery.
Here is Kallie opening her present that Grandma Patti & Grandpa Charlie mailed her. She was too excited to wait until her birthday and grandma gave in and told her she could open it early.

'BOLT'...yay! A new movie to watch during the drive :)
We were so excited to have Sam & Maci come stay in the hotel with us for the birthday celebration. By the time we made it through Vegas traffic and visited with Nate and Jeni for a while, we were too late to go swimming on Friday night. We walked across the parking lot to Wendy's and got frosties instead. But first thing Saturday morning, you can bet what was on these girls' mind! They swam and swam until we had to check out of the hotel :(
For lunch Kallie picked Pizza Factory and I wasn't complaining! Yum! Had to get a picture of their matching hair do's! (courtesy of the hair blog once again)
This one's for you Amy...a picture of beeeeeautiful Jeni 29 weeks pregnant with little girl #3.
Next we were off to Fiesta Fun for a little minature golf (look online...buy one get one free coupons, hooray)!
Dan being the golf "bumper". Let's just say we didn't necessarily play by the rules :)
Last stop at Fiesta Fun...the bumper boats! These were hilarious, they shot water out the front and by the end everyone was SOAKED! I wish you all could have witnessed them in person.
Look at Syd's face, she has been taken over by the bumper boat demon :)
Sunday, as is tradition, breakfast in bed! This was tough to make on fast Sunday (we decided the b-day girl didn't have to fast on her b-day).
Sydney was the honored guest at the breakfast in bed party!
Sunday night we invited a few friends over for cake & presents. Don't ask me what's wrong with me...I forgot to get pictures of the whole crew. Here is Kallie working hard on her barbie cake. No comments from those of you out there who are professional cake decorators (you know who you are), Kallie had tons of fun with the frosting.
Finished product...Kallie was thrilled to say the least! And if she's happy...I'm happy!
Happy Birthday dear Kallie...Happy Birthday to you!

Happy Birthday Kallie! I agree... time goes by way too fast! It's so sad to see these little kids getting older (snif, snif). Looks like a fun birthday party!
Last weekend was the best. It was so good to spend some time with you guys. My girls loved sleeping over, golfing, eating, everything. Like I have said before, having you around makes me feel normal in my life. I wish I could have you around me every day of my life. We love you guys so much. Thank you for everything.
Happy, Happy Birthday Kallie! What a treat to come to St. George. She must miss it badly.
I had no idea that Fiesta Fun has such fun stuff...we are going to have to take a trip there!
Love the cake and LOVE that she helped decorate it...so cute.
Happy Birthday Kallie! CUTE cake, you did an awesome job! And how cute is Jeni! Thanks for putting up a pic of her cute belly.
What a fun birthday celebration. I know what you mean--I wish my kids would stop growing too! I'm jealous of the swimming. We went to the inside pool last week, because the kids just couldn't stand not swimming anymore.
I LOVE Jeni's prego belly! I wish I was there to rub it for you Jeni! :) Thanks for that Carrie!
I can't believe how big our kids are getting! The girls look SO grown up! That pic of Syd's evil face made me laugh out loud! What a cutie!
Ok, here is a check for me....Jake will be JR. HIGH in 2 years! Although, I might riot against having 6th graders in Jr. High! I think Jr. High should come after high school. It would be a MUCH easier time....all grown up and stuff. I HATED Jr. High! :)
Ok I had no idea you did all that over the weekend! Happy B-day you darling girl! What a fun weekend! GOrgeous pics and the Barbie, well I never would have known she was too tall if 'ya hadn't told me!
Wow, looks like you guys had a blast! I have to say, Kallie, you are quite the cake decorator~!
Happy Birthday to Kallie! I can't believe how much she has grown since the last time I saw her! I am very very impressed that she did the frosting on her cake! She did an amazing job!!!
So fun! I had one of those barbie cakes when I was a girl...it was my favorite. I'll have to see how old I was. You guys all look great. You need to hand that camera to someone else every once in awhile and show off your face. I miss it.
What a fun birthday celebration! Kallie is one lucky girl. I love the cake and I love that Kallie was doing it herself! Happy Birthday Kallie.
Woo-hoo! I'm impressed with that cake. Give sweet Kallie a happy birthday spank from the Allens. The time goes by way too fast.
Happy Birthday Kallie! I'm very impressed with your cake--good job!
Carrie, you make birthdays the most special days ever! You are such a wonderful Mom! :)
I can't believe she is 9! It seems like yesterday we were dragging them to preschool with Miss Tanya! Happy Birthday Kallie!
Wow! Nine really??? I guess I shouldn't be surprised since Jaden turned 9 back in September. She is gorgeous, and of course has the best hair!!! I wish I had her hair dresser's number:)
Carrie,
I still remember when you gave BIRTH to Kallie...this is craziness how fast time flies by! Your pictures are beautiful as always. I loved the breakfast in bed one the best...so sweet. I especially liked how Syd had her little dog watching her eat breakfast--that's totally something Grace would do!
