Brooke's rear view mirror challenge!

My friend Brooke Oldroyd (who has the cutest blog ever) challenged everyone to a "rear view mirror" photo, after she got a good shot of her daughter in the back seat crying while going through a car wash. So here are my rear view's, and yes next time I won't take them while driving...yikes!

Sydney and friend Livi LOVE going to the bank for obvious reasons...

Sydney loves "Our Song" by Taylor Swift and here she is singing her little heart out!!!

Anyone else up for the challenge???

"Sydney will you take a picture of me please?"

Thanks a ton for the necklace Diane. I had it on today when I went and helped in Kallie's class at school and two little girls told me how beautiful I looked. It was the necklace!!!

And yes, Sydney really took this picture. Nice job little chickadee!

Tuesday {TOP 5}

So every Tuesday (thanks to Amy's inspiration) I'm going to do a {TOP 5} list! This "top 5" theme is in honor of the pizza guy in Bellevue. (If you don't know the pizza guy story, consider yourself lucky! If you WANT to know the story let me know).

Today's {TOP 5} list is in celebration of my hubby and I's anniversary this week. So here goes:

The {TOP 5} Funny things from our wedding (12 years ago!):

#5 Ran out of refreshments and served almost all of our cake (notice all layers are gone but the top).

#4 The nice HUGE puffed sleeves on my wedding dress!

#3 Dan's ex-girlfriend came through our line and then sat on the floor right at the end of our line. We're talking that she sat there for probably 45 minutes...get a clue!

#2 Dan's father's hair in this picture...I think it is hilarious. Very Lanny like!

And the big numero uno #1 Our wedding luncheon at Golden Corral. Yep, you heard that right, Golden Corral. What were we thinking? Wedding lunch on Lanny, we should have experienced some fine dining not load 'um up and move 'um out food. YUCK!

I would like to say that nobody is responsible for these funny wedding planning decision besides my hubby and myself. My parents were (and are) very loving and supportive and did not force any of these crazy choices upon us.

Oh well! Twelve awesome years and we have loved every minute! Maybe one day these pictures will have a classic "vintage" look to them, but for the time being they are just a little shall we say... 90's.

Stay tuned next Tuesday for another {TOP 5} in honor of the pizza guy!

Problem solved...cross your fingers!!!

*Two Guys*Two and a half hours*Two hundred and fifty dollars*

As you can see the roof looks better, but is the problem solved?!? I'm sure we will find out in the next few days. But as far as I'm concerned, those guys earned every penny of that money, they worked hard chipping away at all that ice with their hammers. They did recommend however, that if we get another big snow (which we will) that my hubby not try and get on the roof to shovel the new snow unless he has cleats on. "Or," the guy said, "You can call us and we will come back and shovel it again." Knowing my hubby, those guys are going to be back on our roof sometime before this cursed winter is over.

Dam (or DAMN!)

So let me begin by telling you that this morning we were having a nice quite Saturday morning. I was putting on my shoes so I could run on the treadmill. I asked Kallie what she wanted to do today? She replied....."Go to California!" And after the day we've had, I think we just might!

I walked through the living room and I heard a dripping sound which I soon discovered was water dripping INSIDE my window and all over the carpet. Anyway, long story short, we being the irresponsible homeowners that we are have let too much snow and ice build up on our roof which caused an ice dam. The ice made it so the water couldn't drain off the roof and instead it was leaking down the side of the house and into the window.

Notice the nice angles of our roof and the fabulous collection of snow and ice.

Now it is pretty obvious that this should cause alarm to any semi-observant human being!

So Dan and I (mostly Dan) spent hours shoveling snow then chopping about 12 inches of ice off the roof.

And now our living room looks like this :(

So any suggestions on where we should move to in California?!?

Attributes of a Mother

Two weeks ago I went and spoke to the young women about attributes of a mother. They gave me these flowers as a thank you and I can't believe they are still alive and well after two weeks! Roses...no thanks, give me the $3 misc flowers from Albertsons, they last longer!
