Look what Syd can do!

How to get a kid to ride a 2 wheeler??? Sell all their bikes with training wheels at a garage sale and this was the only option left. We've been working on it for a while but the other bikes being gone sealed the deal!

Nice job Sydney! Can you say 'attached at the hip'? Syd is going to miss that girl like crazy!

Leotard...shiny blue pants with a rainbow stripe...pink cowgirl boots...perfect riding attire!

Here she is in action...

Another milestone! Do you see Syd's blanket??? Can you see the holes and the batting sticking out??? This blanket is a treasure and it is well loved! So a huge thank you to...
Amanda for replacing the other side (she already replaced one side)...now the "favorite" blanket can live on, and on, and on! And I will probably UPS it to you at some point in the future :)

Photo Assignments

The photography assignment for this week was 4th of July. I drove by this old truck in somebody's yard and they had decorated it with flags. For some reason it reminded me of an old war veteran and I thought it looked really patriotic.

The assignment last week was "circles". These "circles" were Anna's idea and she volunteered to be the model. I think any of us would look like this after being on vacation (w/o a hubby) with 5 kids (it's really make-up if you can't tell). Anna, you're a natural beauty (I'm serious)!!!

Diane is great!

Diane and family:
Thanks for coming to see us! We love you and we wish you could have stayed longer!!! Our life is dull and boring without you...can't wait to see you over Labor Day!

Baby Anna enjoying her watermelon.
Baby Lauren...couldn't get any stickier if she tried (do you like the hairdo I gave her?).

We decided that standing by the hot fire roasting marshmallows is what summer in Phoenix feels like.

Spencer's is just right!

Even Dan couldn't resist!Looks yummy huh!?!

{TOP 5} Tuesday...Summer!

I found out today that Kallie & Sydney's new school start on August 12th...what the heck??? We just got ripped off 2 weeks of summer. I am so bummed!

And for some unknown reason it made me feel really nostalgic and emotional about leaving this pretty little resort town that we live in...oh great now I'm crying again :(

I better type fast before my nose starts running...
{TOP 5} reasons I love living here in the summer:

5.Weather- not too hot, not too cold...just right!
4.Nights- crisp & cool, perfect for leaving the windows open!
3.Playing outside...splash parks, rivers, picnics, walks, marshmallow roasts, BBQ's it's all good.
2.For a brief, wonderful moment...there is no snow on the ground and all the plants turn green.
1.Circle...I love living in a circle where my kids can run and I know they haven't gone very far.

I love, love, love the summertime!!!

Open House

Our agent did an open house on Saturday and unfortunately nobody came.... not one! Oh well, such is life when you buy high and sell low in the real estate market.

There are two good things that came of it though (1) our house was totally clean for a few hours and (2) I got a few new pictures to email to the realtor. I was a little bit disappointed about how they turned out, I should have pulled out my tripod because some of them are a little blurry. Oh well...soon it will be empty and it won't really matter.

Living Room

Dining Room

Kitchen

Master Bedroom

Master Bath (don't you love the very un-natural lighting)

Bonus Room
Girls Room
Guest Room/Office (that never made it to the top of my list of things to decorate).I keep telling myself that life is an adventure right???

Happy 4th!

Have ya ever seen two cuter girls at a parade???

This is how you cover your ears and eat watermelon at the same time :)

Thanks tons and tons Amy for organizing such a fun (and yummy) BBQ!

I had to talk Dan into going to the fireworks and it was well worth my pleadings! Spencer & Samuel (Diane's boys) came with us.

Next year, I may be the nerdy one who brings her tripod to watch fireworks.

Visitors!

Have I ever told you how much I love it when people come visit!?! My really good friend, Anna (another dental school wife) drove from Oregon to visit us. It has been far too many years since we've seen each other & I was soooo glad she made the effort to come!

So what did we do you ask? ate pizza, played at the splash park, got a babysitter and went to the movies, went to the rodeo, stayed up way to late talking, watched 'The office', ate coconut cake...and much more!

(don't ask me who the kid is smiling way in the back, between Clara and Isaac???)

cute baby James with crackers all over his face

Anna, Jacob and Isaac went on a fun field trip to ride the ski lift.

Can you say small town rodeo...
Thank you Allen family for coming to visit and for being such great friends!!!

The Three Little Pigs

When Syd did this they all laughed and I ran for my camera...knowing perfectly well that I would be cleaning a window later. Yup ...I was laughing as hard as they were !Pig Syd and Pig Sammi (aren't they cute :)

Pig Kallie (love the teeth :)

It's finally here!

They said it would take 4 weeks to get here and it really took 3 months!

New bed- totally worth the wait!
