{TOP 5} Tuesday...Pet Peeves
Have you ever wondered what a "pet peeve" is exactly? Well, since it is Tuesday and I'm going to share my 'Top 5' pet peeves with you, I will fill you in on the exact definition.
The dictionary described pet peeve- as an opportunity for complaint that is seldom missed. I don't know exactly why, but that sort of struck me funny! So (just to be a brat) here are the {TOP 5} items that I seldom miss complaining about...
(In no particular order because they are all ridiculous really!)
#5- When someone is asked to put something away, they give it a very poor attempt, and the item (if it's lucky) ends up in the general vicinity of where it should be or just stashed in some corner where mom, hopefully, won't notice it. This is probably bothering me more lately because with a house up for sale (even if you only have one person come through every other month) you never know exactly when that showing will be and you have to be semi-prepared at all times. So...I very rarely miss the opportunity to whine and complain when someone does not make the effort to put things away in their correct spot.
#4- When Beau wants me to throw his ball and I don't want to (which happens often), he follows me around and every step I take he sits on my foot. When I take another step, he shuffles quickly so he can sit on my foot again...I think you would all agree that would be annoying!
#3- Why is it that I seem to be the only person in my house who can hear the phone??? It is an extremely rare occurrence when anyone other than yours truly will answer when someone calls. The other day, we were expecting Jeni to call because Dan and Nate were going to the church to set up tables and chairs. I got in the shower (how dare I) when Jeni called to tell us that Nate was heading out. The phone rang and rang, I knew it was her so I'm in the shower yelling, "Someone answer the phone!" But no...no one did! Why? Did they not hear it? Could they not find it? No...they just don't want to bother themselves. If you ever call and my hubby picks up the phone, you should feel very honored because he rarely does that even if it's me calling!
#2- My sweet little Kallie, for some unknown reason, has gotten in the habit of sucking/chewing on a chunk of hair. And oh, believe me I NEVER miss the opportunity to complain about this! Truthfully it grosses me out! I keep threatening, and one of these days I just going to do it, I'm going to grab the scissors and cut that chunk of hair right off! Please give me some advice about how to break her of this yucky habit! (By the way, she totally posed for this picture. Can't you tell by the smirk in her eyes?)
#1- Can I even tell you how crazy it makes me when I'm walking through my kitchen and crunch! I step on some piece of cracker, cereal, pretzel or who knows what that someone has dropped and instead of picking it up, they left it on the ground for me to step on and crush into a thousand pieces. I have literally watched (small & big people alike) drop something, look at it, and walk away...what's up with that!?! Not quite sure why this one gets under my skin, probably because it happens on such a regular basis. Seriously...pick it up!
So, now that you are all tired of my whining and complaining, and now that I've successfully convinced you that I'm a real nag...PLEASE share with me some of your pet peeves so I don't feel like such a jerk!

Mother, I love you!
Happy Mother's Day!
To two of the greatest mothers anyone could ask for we love you!
Grandma Patti
Grandma Sherry
And my sweet family spoiled me with...
{Flowers}

{Breakfast in bed-pictures too ugly to document!}
{Love messages written in m&m's}
{& projects from school}
Poem on Kallie's project:
Please walk slowly, Mommy
said you child so small.
I'm walking in your footsteps,
and I don't want to fall.
I made this foot print for you
So that one day when I am tall,
You'll remember what my little
feet looked like
Long ago when I was small.

The Toy Shoppe
Kallie was a Chinese Doll in her very first ballet recital tonight. It was really fun to watch her perform (although any show with 2 intermissions should be a red flag to us all)! Nice job little Chinese Doll!
Kallie & her friend Sarah. (These pictures are actually at the dress rehearsal because no flash photos were allowed at the real deal.)

Kallie was laughing so hard at her teeth in this picture...

These 'Little Bo Peeps' were too cute not to photograph, they were totally enthralled with the other dancers.
And of course a trip to Baskin Robbins just to top off the night!

Nursing Mother...
Kallie & Syd have been pretending that little balloons filled with water were their babies the last couple days. This morning Syd came up to me holding a blanket in front of her. She said, "Don't laugh ok Mom! I'm feeding my baby Lucy." So she took down the blanket to show me her water balloon stuck down the front of her leotard. I tried not to but I couldn't help myself...I had to laugh. Syd said, "No Mom don't laugh!" I said, "I know I'm sorry but it looks like you have one little boobie."
Later on Kallie was kind enough to lend Sydney her baby water balloon so she could have the complete package...
Humm....sort of reminds me of a picture of KayLynn from long ago =)

Celebration BBQ- Yum!
In the afternoon on Saturday (after 'the guys' went clay pigeon shooting) the family got together for a BBQ/B-day celebration for Dan & Kallie.
Seriously, answer this for me...what could be better than family, TONS of food, presents, and cake! We are so glad that some of you could make the long trip up here, and we missed those of you who couldn't come, what would we do without such a WONDERFUL family?!?
Grandma Sherry & Halle
Too much good food to choose from huh Dave? We had yummy left-overs for days!
Kids table, I was laughing because almost everyone (except Kallie) is making a weird face...definitely a blog-worthy photo =)
Don't you love the fluorescent orange frosting???
What did you wish for Kallie?
Kallie's first Webkinz, she's just a little excited about this gift!
And an end-of-the-day hairdo that couldn't be left out (don't we all feel like this some days?)...
What a terrific weekend! Sorry to the rest of you who managed to steer clear of all my photos...watch out next time I will have to take twice as many of you to make up for it!
(P.S. we had our first people come through the house today...can you say panic! Dan and I were running around like chickens with our heads cut off! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to Jeni for saving the day and taking the girls plus two more that I was watching...you're one in a million!)

Baptism Day!
Sorry I'm a little slow getting these posted, but here they are!
Kallie's very special Baptism day, Saturday, May 3rd at 10:00 a.m.
I felt like everything went very well! Thank you so much to the great speakers and beautiful musical number. I was really touched by the Spirit at this Baptism and I really felt the love of my Heavenly Father for this beautiful little girl.

Grandpa Charlie & Grandma Patti
Grandpa Lanny & Grandma Sherry
Cousin Ellie
Sam & Maci
One thing I did learn, and I will definitely do different next time is...outdoor photos! The lighting in the church is horrible! What can ya do??? I also wished I had gotten one group photo of everyone who came to support Kallie on this wonderful day! We LOVE you Kallie!

{TOP 5} Tuesday...Happy 34th Dan!!!
Dan has been in Las Vegas the last few days and was not going to be home until after midnight tonight. Luckily he got everything done yesterday so he came home earlier today...yay! Now we can actually celebrate with him!
Dan is such a kind, patient, hard-working, loving husband and father...we love him SO much! We even love him enough to follow him to the ends of the earth and back!
#5- Dan last year on his b-day...he loves our happy b-day headband can ya tell???
#4- Dan loves to do crazy things especially in front of the camera! Just checking for boogers in the Sun Valley ice sculpture...what will he do if he finds one? =)
#3- These girls love their Dad, he is way more fun than mom!
#2- Dan and Kallie in front of the tree of life at Disney's Animal Kingdom (I love the back lighting)!
#1- Swimming in St. George...showing off his big muscles!
Big or small, short or tall, I love him just the same and I feel very blessed to have such a wonderful hubby! Happy Birthday to my hunk-a-burnin'!

Let the party begin!
What a wonderful, fun weekend we had. I can't tell everyone how grateful we are for everything they did to help us and for all of you who traveled long distances to be here with us during this special time!
So to start things off on Thursday our Realtor came through the house and gave us her thoughts and opinions, took photos and came up with a listing price. Once she had come and gone my stress level decreased significantly!!!
Next the missionaries called to remind me that I had signed up to feed them that night...what was I thinking?!?
Here is poor little Beau hovering in the corner because he is terrified of the missionaries! About 4 sets of missionaries ago one of the Elders chased him around the backyard and he has never been the same since. He even pooped on the floor once when they came over because he was so afraid!
So what do you make for the missionaries last minute? Pancakes and eggs...perfect (actually that's what I usually make for them)! I'm a little bossy and I put everyone to work (my sis KayLynn) looks yummy!
The kids were just excited to be together!
The next day (Friday) Sadie was already feeling worn out...the party has just begun babe!
And to top it all off, Sydney decided to put a quarter down the drain in the kitchen sink. It got jammed in the disposal (of course, just our luck) and Dan and Dave worked for a very long time and ended up taking the entire disposal out to unjam the quarter.
Success...Dan said he is going to start taping Syd's hands behind her back before he leaves for work in the morning! Not a bad idea if you ask me =)
More to come...
